A little bit more about Amanda...
After graduating with an MBA in Finance and Corporate Accounting from University of Rochester’s Simon School of Business in 2000, I began my career in finance as a Senior Financial Analyst for CenturyLink, and later became an Investment Consultant for an investment management firm.
Then, my decades-long “Foolish” journey aptly started on April Fool’s Day in 2007 with our parent company, The Motley Fool, LLC. For eight years I worked there as a Senior Investment Advisor before moving over to Motley Fool Wealth Management to collaborate one-on-one with clients in a fiduciary capacity. In 2020, I became the Financial Planning Team Lead for The Motley Fool, LLC, and finally landed back with Fool Wealth in 2025. My contributions to our mission to “make the world smarter, happier, and hopefully richer” over the years earned me the Founder’s Leadership Award in 2023 and induction into the Fool Hall of Fame. I love that the Foolish approach combines the best of both worlds: professional guidance, along with transparency and education to help clients become their own best investing advocates.
Financial literacy has been a passion of mine since I was very young. I saw older women in my family have their lives and financial security upended by widowhood, and I vowed to be fully engaged and knowledgeable about my own finances (and encourage others to do the same). Growing up, I also would tag along with my dad to visit his office when he worked in banking—I remember being fascinated by the business of money and what it could do, and that curiosity still persists to this day.
