A little bit more about Madison ...
After I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I began my investment career with The London Company of Virginia. I developed my acumen in operations, and fell in love with the fast-paced nature of money management when I became an Equity Trader. During my five-year tenure at The London Company, I traded and reconciled over 7,000 accounts, two million shares daily, and traded over $2B in assets.
I was always drawn to the go-getter culture of New York City’s financial industry – and this led me to my role as Director of Trading at a fintech startup, 55ip, where I ran all trading operations. At both of these companies, I was also responsible for creating comprehensive operations manuals.
The past few years, I enjoyed growing my personal training business as a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Trainer, but I began to miss working in financial services. So, I jumped at the opportunity to join the Motley Fool Wealth Management team.
Today I still hold onto my grandmother’s influence on the way I view money and investing. She has always encouraged me to be interested in companies, do my own research on the kind of value they provide to their investors, and to invest in businesses whose products I believe in. It’s refreshing to work for an investment firm whose company-first, quality-seeking philosophy aligns with my own!
